Gloria, an Oregon native, has involved herself with the art and movement of dance since she was a young girl. As an aerobic enthusiast for most of her life Gloria began to experience pain from her regular routine. She found herself in need of a new low impact workout that would help reinvent and heal herself. Gloria would eventually discover Pilates and a new passion would emerge.
"When I am on the Reformer I feel like a dancer preparing for a performance. I get lost in the rhythm, like being on a swing."
As a certified Pilates instructor of over 10 years, Gloria now teaches personal and small group sessions in her private studio in SW Portland. The privacy and solitude of her space encourages focus and individual attention while creating a comfortable and nourishing environment. Clients are also treated to a view that over looks the Willamette river. Gloria takes the time to study her clients movements and needs which allows her to create personalized programs to maximize their flexibility and overall potential. Her enthusiasm and expertise coupled with state of the art equipment makes for an empowering experience for clients of all age groups and skill levels.
Gloria's 30 years as a master learning specialist further adds to her ability to teach with ease. As of recently, Gloria immersed herself in an advanced, Pilates, therapeutic training program with Aline and Bryan Alexander’s Momentum Studios, which is located in New Mexico. This philosophy is based on “integrity of movement” and has helped her remain at the forefront of new developments and techniques in the Pilates community.
Gloria also has strong relationships with respected institutions within the industry and was invited to become an ambassador for Lululemon.
In addition to her skill set in Pilates and Education, Gloria prides herself as a writer, film producer and news junkie. In between her busy lifestyle Gloria loves to spend time with her grandchildren Henry, Sadie and Jax. “The more you learn, the more there is to know...practicing Pilates is a beautiful way to be in touch with mind and body. I am pleased to share my growing knowledge.”
